one year ago today...

Viviana came home to our family after 100 days and nights of 'baking' at the hospital trying to reach normal newborn status and overcome overwhelming and miraculous odds. I could go on and on, but I'll stop at one word...
~grateful~
She is still asserting herself well as the caboose and nothing's gonna stop this girl from making her mark!

She was waving at the camera back then and she even stopped to wave at the camera halfway up the stairs a year later, funny girl. She was born waving to the world, I guess.
She is more capable than anticipated, growing faster than expected, more perfect than hoped for, and learning new things every day being last in a long pecking order.
I think she's used to the rockstar status she has around here.
And we apparently can't wait until she can change her own diaper....it appears in this photo as if we don't do it that often around here. I guess some things about being first-time parents (and firstborn children) are better than the sixth time around.

She is the happiest little girl. We are grateful too!
Hey, those diapers can hold 16-22 pounds. Says so, right there on the packaging.
What a beautiful, charming, adored little pink miracle. And by the way, you can gush. We don't mind.
Viv's is truly a miracle! The other day you said she was standing on her own, has she taken any steps yet?
Vivi is yummy. I can't think of a better word. She is definitely a special little girl. Did I call her a little girl? She's growing up too fast.
Hurray for Vivs! Give her loves from our crew. It's so wonderful to hear good reports and how she is blossoming. Sweet, sweet, Vivs:)
I would definitely say MIRACULOUS. I remember our phone conversation when you were hospitalized and you were prepping yourself mentally for the possibility of a funeral. Oh my...how that girl has defied the odds!
She seriously is just a little miracle! I'm SOOOOO glad that she's doing so well! What an adorable baby!
Her story is amazing. She is a very lucky little girl to have come to such a great family, where there are lots of brothers and sisters to provide lots of yummy smooches. She is so beautiful.
