Shay's Surgery: Silly Style

Combine one big 'ouchie' with two Sprinkles cupcakes and what do you get? One healing and happier Shay! I'm pretty brave to put that picture on my blog!!!!

Yesterday I had a pretty routine surgical procedure that's been planned for a few months now. Wow, it burrrns--uh, probably cause that's what the Doc did, was ablate my uterus, or in other terms, burn the endometrial lining after doing a dilation & curettage (aka D&C, and not the scripture kind hahaha). Hopefully this will solve my female problems. In anticipation of the surgery, my cute friends, Allison & Rachel, brought me some much needed medicine, Sprinkles cupcakes--hooray! I ate one, but have felt too nauseated to finish the other, so I'll have to savor it later! Each of the kids has asked a dozen times if they can have one of my cupcakes. "NO" is the big fat answer every time. I'm not selfish...these are no ordinary Albertson's cupcakes...meant for special situations that really don't include children who don't appreciate them anyway. phewww. FYI, the fact that I even recruited McKenzie to take this picture of me tells tells the world that yes, I am in fact medicated and feeling 'good.'

Before I was treated at the surgery center I was obviously feeling silly enough to snap these photos of myself with my phone. I had Curt drop me off and then pick me up 3 1/2 hours later...no one was there to even hold my hand!!! Someone needed to take care of sick Vivie at home (103 fever for 3 days...doing better now FYI). I was fine with it...Curt would have been bored anyway. I couldn't let this procedure and 'day in history' go down without being chronicled Silly Shay style! No, that's not blue hair...I know you were wondering. And I know you're jealous of my socks, the kind that go up past my knees to ward off blood-clots. LOVELY is what you're thinking...it's how I was most definitely feelin'!

Funny pics...hope you bounce back soon. I don't think I would have shared my cupcakes either.

Ahh, medicinal cupcakes. Is there anything baked goods CAN'T do? Hope your feeling peppy soon--although you seem to be in fine form--and no, never even think of sharing. Helps the kids build character.

I'm so glad things went okay...obviously you're feeling GOOD. Aren't drugs a marvelous thing? I think I may need some myself after staying 24+ hours in the hospital w/mama.

Love you.

Wait, were already drugged when you took all those pictures? How in the world are you so happy to be wearing hospital garb and still look cute? You're so funny. I was wondering what surgery you had mentioned before, I hope you're feeling better.

And it's been a few days since I've checked your blog, I too love a nice girls-night-out and it sounds like you and Mark had fun visiting old stomping grounds. Brett has taken me to a lot of those places he misses and it's always a lot of fun.

Oh my! Totally entertaining is all I have to say! You should post all of those on your fridge and then put a circular magnet around the face that best describes how you're feeling that day, cause I'm pretty sure you covered most of the emotions!
