McKenzie's Talents

The Activity Days Talent Show

When you think about talents, singing and playing piano come to mind as common talents. While McKenzie can sing in the shower and has mastered every H.S. Musical song and can rock out with her friends, her real talents are 'spiritual gifts.' They can't be performed, but they can be shared and she can continue to develop them and bless others' lives in service with these skills. They are:
  • Communicating with people (she's GREAT at this. Sometimes it's in the form of yelling matches, but she gets her point accross always and is not afraid to speak up.)
  • Complimenting others on their achievements. McKenzie is always the first one to root on other friends and family when they do something well.
  • Nurturer...McKenzie is a mother-in-training as she helps to change LOTS of diapers in our home and rock, cuddle, read, take little girls to the potty, etc. She is my right hands much of the time.
  • Being an example to others and playing with kids who are lonely at school. When McKenzie sees a need she is not afraid to be the first to help!
This is McKenzie's Activity Days Group..with the addition of a few extra non-member friends:

These talents already bless her life as well as our family. They will help her one day to become a great mom as well. I think she's getting great training right now as the oldest girl of six kiddos...reminds me of someone else I know:)

A magnet board full of photos showing McKenzie as a nurturer, friend, and big helper.
How grown-up and beautiful is SHE??!!! Heavenly Father knew I needed you first! I LOVE YOU, McKenzie!!!

What a great idea. McKenzie is darling! Last year at Christina's AD talent show one girl diapered and held her baby sister...it was so sweet. It's heartwarming to see these mommies in training.

McKenzie is awesome. I miss being her primary teacher. What a doll. I'm so proud of what a wonderful young lady she is growing up to be. She takes after her mama in the looks department.

I hope you print that and put it in her book. Sometimes those kind of talents are underaprectiated and it helps to have a reminder that some of the best talents are not performed on stage.

Kenz, I'm so proud of you. I know just how much your mother loves you and appreciates your help because she was the same help to me with all your uncles. Heavenly Father really loves me and I know this because he gave me a perfect daughter, your mother, and he gave her (and me) a perfect daughter (and grand daughter) YOU.

AHHHH, mom! Too kind! You just feel badly that we're on the run! McKenzie is pretty great--I've always said Heavenly Father has a sense of humor having 'blessed' me with FOUR girls!!! Gotta love 'em! And yes, now I know how much you really do love me...
