So Viviana is our sixth child...fourth girl and I needed a baby shower (of sorts)! Some people gauk at moms like me but hey, back off....it wasn't my idea! Viv NEEDED to be celebrated...and so my darling friends put on a party for our sweet little angel last Thursday! Why did I NEED a baby shower? Let me explain.
Back when we first learned we were expecting, I was just beyond SURE that this little caboose was a BOY! Anyone telling me otherwise or not accepting my inspiration just didn't know what they were talking about. It was that 'mother's intuition' everyone talks about...and everyone who knows me knows that I just KNEW it was a boy! Get the picture?
So when we moved from Utah to Cali we lost 2/3 of our storage space and had to pick and choose what we'd keep. Because I thought I was being so organized and thrifty I kept most of the kids clothes from birth--current ages and stored them in plastic bins. We just don't have that kind of space for boy/girl newborn -10 years old in our garage so we had to give away the things we weren't going to use. I went through everything and gave away about 3/4 of the things I had so diligently moved from house to house and stored away (you know, with the intention of saving money on clothing even though I'd never use 1/2 the things in reality because it's just one of my 'things' to make sure my kids are cute and current.....but for some weird reason it made it feel better to keep these things even though I knew I wouldn't use most of them..come on, you know you're the SAME way!) We had probably 8 big black yard bags full of clothing and about 4 plastic bins of shoes....kind of disgusting...ya think I like clothes? I kept only a few newborn-12 month girl items and so I am starting over with our last! Lucky Viv--she'll get a fresh new wardrobe without all the pukey and blow-out poopie stains that McKenzie, Alexandra, and Isabella left for someone else:)
So onto the reason for the post...I needed a Vivie celebration...I love my friends! Thanks Lisa, Allison, & Malisa (and everyone else who helped) for suggesting it and making it happen! Thank you for all you did-it was beautiful for those that were able to come:) I think I need to be better with what I eat--or I'll have to be part of the chubby buddies club soon:) yeah, yeah "I just had a baby" ...FIVE months ago!!!!

Happy Viviana Day(s)! So glad your party (long) weekend was super fun... Those SeaTac Menzies are a blast! And hey, I'm definitely in the chubbers club since having Wes. These are stubborn postpartum pounds this time around. Wayne keeps reminding me, "You just had major surgery," but the "just" seems more kind the more I hear it. I am thankful for the kindness:)
Have a great week!
If you need to join "chubby buddies"...so do I! Except I don't think I can blame baby weight since my baby is six!
Hey, my baby is 25 and I still have my baby chubbers - at least that is what I blame it on!
Shayla has an amazing group of friends in San Marcos - they have been so supportive during the "Viviana Journey"
