Lip Smackers

You know she's a girly girl when....

It only takes one sitting to go through a whole stick of lip balm.

Pop Jewelry

Hook Curt up to a diet coke IV, and he'd be in heaven.  (DP once in a while for me, please).  Yes, we go through a whole lot of soda pop in this household-- mostly, it's Curt's vice.  So we recycle.
(Thanks to a few others... we recycle their addiction too).

We also found a way to also make use of the tab on the can.
Super cute.
 Super fab.
Super stylish.
 Super easy
Anyone can do it... six-year-olds and sixth graders alike.  Check 'em out.  Add a pop of whimsy
aka tattered flower with oh, so delicious centers
and you've got yourself a cheap, yet fabulous accessory.

It all started when we had to come up with a 100th day of school project for Alexandra.  That is, 100 like-items displayed in a creative manner.

100 soda pop can tabs.

This necklace was my epiphany.  I didn't make all of it up-- I just spiffed it up... shortened it, added the ties & flower.  And I think it's simply awesome.  The best part... it wasn't your typical waste of time project that ends up in the trash.  This is a keeper.

Now it's hot to trot... and everyone who sees it wants to sport one.  Kenz was on it as soon as she saw the result.  Fun little business venture for my little ones?  haha... you never know.
The 2nd one was even better & more polished than the first.  We chose fabric for the ties only because
I {love} fabric and didn't have fabulous coordinating ribbon.  Be amazed:

Happy Fake Birthday

Isabella loves Alexandra so much that she wanted to throw her a party.  Or perhaps she just wanted an excuse to make some more messes.

Izzie announced it to her whole kindergarten class... When Curt picked up Izzie from K,  several parents asked him if Izzie was really inviting everyone over for a party that day... first we heard of it!

Isabella & Viviana spread out in the entry-way with their party goods... including snacks-- where it sat for hours while they patiently waited for their guest... and hours after that until I had to beg them to put it away or it gets put in the trash.  Silly girls.  Happy fake birthday, Alexandra!

Girl Scouts

We did it.  I couldn't put them off any longer.  $3 a week?  Worth every penny.  We finally joined Girl Scouts.  My two little Daisy Scouts were thrilled for their first meeting.  Just in time for Girl Scout Cookies... yay us.  One more thing to do.  But who wouldn't want to buy from this cute little Daisy Scout Duo?

little photographers

This is what happens when I let my camera loose
to a three, five, and six-year-old.  I think there were 342 pictures as seen from their little eyes.  These were the in-focus ones.

This was our happy birthday banner and lovely pom poms we put up to celebrate Emily on her birthday.

Are my kids the only ones who come up with concoctions like this?

A much-needed holiday nap for a sick momma.
